Sony C6802 with Full HD screen and Android 4.2 leaks, may be the successor to the Xperia Z

The Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL aren?t even available yet, but the company is obviously already working on its next high-end flagship device. If Sony remains consistent with its modus operandi from the past years, it should release the Z?s successor before the end of the year.

This then could be the C680X range, of which the C6802 has been leaked today. It was spotted getting its Web browser tested over at HTML5 Test.

Sony-C6802

It runs Android 4.2. Don?t worry though ? by the time Sony releases this device, the ?current? version of the OS will be the one codenamed Key Lime Pie (either 4.3 or 5.0). So don?t go out to celebrate that for once the Japanese company will launch a smartphone running a fresh build of Android just yet.

The C6802 has a Full HD 1,920?1,080 touchscreen, of yet unknown size. And that?s all we know about it so far. If it will in fact be the successor to the Xperia Z, it means someone was doing some pretty early testing on it. We do expect to hear about it a lot more in the future though.

The Xperia Z has the model number C660X, which is why the ?successor? angle works in this case. At least in theory. Of course, this could just be someone faking the Web browser?s user agent, so hopefully you had your grain of salt somewhere within reach.
