During New York Fashion Week, models book several shows each day, leaving no time to eat. Since models are rail thin, I figured they didn't each much anyway. It turns out I was wrong.
In search of answers (and a few snacks for myself) I headed backstage to see what the models were eating while getting their makeup done. I found quite the range of goodies, from carbo-loving bagels (yes) to cleanses (blah). Let's take a look!
It was an early morning call before the Kate Spade runway show and the models were found congregating by the bagels. There was also fruit on hand but the bagels had more fans.
.
It's been cold in New York so Phillip Lim was kind enough to provide warm beverages to the models. The mini marshmallows were a nice touch!
Pasta salad? Yep, the models dug in at the Diane von Furstenberg show. Who said fashion and food don't mix?
These elegant trays backstage at Jason Wu's show were barely touched. Maybe it was the posh presentation? I took a few salami slices--I didn't want them to go to waste.
A cleanse? Could there be a more stereotypical food or drink to be found at a runway show? Having said that, cleanses are popular right now so maybe Rag & Bone was just riding the trend.
Ahhh, water. The drink of champions. Prabal Gurung wanted his models to stay well hydrated and there's nothing wrong with that.
